Charvaak Pati works at the intersection of political science and geography. His doctoral research examined the class consciousness of auto workers in India and how they are spatially embedded within their industrial contexts. His current research interests encompass industrial relations, strikes, and the moral questions workers face during collective action. His second research project, currently in its early stages, examines Just Transition policies and their impact on India's automobile industry, with a specific focus on employment implications for workers navigating the shift toward sustainable manufacturing and electric vehicle production. He is a reviewer for Science & Society and Human Geography.
