Santosh Kumar Prusty is currently working as Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Indian Institute of Management Ranchi. He earned a PhD from IIT Kharagpur in System Dynamics and Strategy in 2011 and has more than eleven years of academic and administrative experience from IIM Shillong and three years at XIM University, Bhubaneswar before joining IIM Ranchi. He has also completed Faculty Development Program in Management from IIM Ahmedabad in 2011. He is an expert in system thinking and meta-level modeling of complex business phenomena and strategy. His research interests include design and fabrication of organizations and strategy in fitting with dynamic contextualities of macro-level social, natural, and economic environments and (re)inventing sustainable business models. Particularly, he is researching on the Complex View of Organizations and Strategy. His teaching experiences and interests include Strategic Management, Business Models, System Thinking and Business Dynamics.He has multiple publications in reputed categories of international journals including Technology Forecasting and Social Change, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Systemic Practice and Action Research, Journal of Public Affairs, International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, in case-clearing house, and in proceedings of international conferences. He has also carried out research projects like Third Party Evaluation of Schemes of MDoNER/NEC Projects-NLCPR sponsored by Ministry of DoNER/North Eastern Council and Appraisal of NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in the States of Meghalaya and Sikkim sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development of Government of India. He has also been involved in various consulting exercises with state PSUs like MCCL Ltd. (Meghalaya), OMFED (Odisha), and Department of Commerce, Govt. of Meghalaya. In addition, he has also been a consultant to IUCN (International Union of Conservation of Nature) for carrying out their sustainability modeling projects. He has conducted multiple MDPs (Management Development Programs) for the executives of various state and central PSUs and private organizations. He has been a guest researcher for fifteen days to Cologne University, Germany under DAAD sponsorship Programme to work on vocational skill and community structure in India. His teaching interest is related to courses on Strategic Management, Business Models, and System Dynamics. He is very much interested in writing, teaching, and researching case studies.
