Dr. Senthil Kumar. A is an Assistant Professor in the Finance and Accounting area at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi. He holds a Ph.D in Management from Anna University, India. His Doctoral Thesis in Finance received the Best Management Ph.D Thesis Award from Coimbatore Management Association. He has undergone a 3 month in-person faculty development program at Indian Institute of Management Indore. He has 24 years of Academic experience in Finance & Accounting domain. He offers courses for the MBA, Executive MBA, IPM, Ph.D, and Executive Certification programs at IIM Ranchi. Through experiential learning modules, he offers courses in Corporate Finance, Managerial Accounting, Financial Markets, Green investing & Sustainable Finance, AI in finance, Digital Financial Services, Academic Writing & Publishing, and Portfolio Management. He has designed, coordinated, and delivered various executive training sessions and long duration executive certification programs in finance.

His research interests include connectedness among financial markets, ESG investing, sustainable finance, investor herding, digital finance, and financial timeseries econometrics. With collaborations of international repute, he has publications in peer-reviewed international journals like Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Pacific Basin Finance Journal, Research in International Business and Finance. He has attended research workshops, and presented research papers at IISc, IIMs, and IITs. He served as a doctoral committee member-Ph.D program; co-supervises doctoral research scholars in the area of ESG investing, and financial markets. He is a reviewer for the Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Sage, and Springer journals.

He serves in the Board of Studies, and faculty recruitment committees of various business schools. He has delivered invited talks at various conferences, workshops, and forums. In his career spanning over two & half decades, he rendered administrative services such as the Chairperson- Centre for Leadership. Public Policy & Governance; Vice-Principal; Chairperson- MBA program;School Executive committee member; Area Chair-Finance; Team member in the AACSB accreditation working group.

He has been awarded with Chancellor’s Publication Excellence Award from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in 2024; best finance research paper award at ICSBMR conference at VIT University in 2018; Best Management Ph.D Thesis Award for 2017-18 from Coimbatore Management Association; second best case study award at COGNOSCO case conference at Christ University Bangalore in 2017; KCT Achiever & Best MBA Teacher for the year 2015-16 from Kumaraguru College of Technology.
