The International Relations Office (IRO) of IIM Ranchi provides assistance to
prospective international students and/or students from abroad already studying at IIM
Ranchi, as well as all students at IIM Ranchi wishing to spend one semester abroad. It
also serves on developing partnerships, reviewing agreements and student exchange
proposals, and negotiating partnership agreements. The reciprocal student exchange
programmes are developed in order to enable the exchange, usually 1:1.
Incoming Students
The incoming students can find all the information regarding the Application Process,
Fact Sheet for foreign residents. The students can download the Exchange Program
Brochure and Application Form.
Application Deadline for Incoming Students:
May 15 | September to December Term
September 30 | December to February Term
Choice of Elective Courses:
The choice of elective courses will have to be from the list shared by the International
Relations Office at IIM Ranchi with the partner institution tentatively around 2nd week of
July for the term from September to December and 2nd week of October for the term
from Mid-December to End February.
The incoming students can also find the information related to two-year Post-Graduate
Programme (PGP) in Management in IIM Ranchi website.
International students, who are already enrolled at IIM Ranchi can obtain information on
living and studying in Ranchi as well as assistance with residency and administrative
issues (leave of absence, courses, examination, grading, etc.) and any other concerns
from the Fact Sheet. The first point of contact for the incoming students is the
International Relations Coordinator. In the International Relations Office, you can also
get assistance and support with any questions or problems regarding your stay in
Ranchi.
Fees and Cost of Living:
Exchange students will be responsible for all of their expenses including living
expenses, transportation costs, medical insurance and book purchase during their stay
IIM Ranchi.
The exchange student needs to pay regular tuition fees at the home institute before
departure for exchange. The living costs for the incoming students is as given below:
Housing & Meals:
The students need to deposit INR 75, 000 for the entire duration of the term @ INR
25,000 per month for hostel accommodation and mess facilities within 1st week of their
arrival.
Text book & course materials:
INR 15,000/- is to be deposited with the Accounts Office of the institute, towards Text
books, course material, library facilities, etc. in the 1st week of student’s arrival.
Insurance:
To be undertaken by the student.
Other expenses:
As per the need of the student.
Transport:
Arranged by the Institute for commuting between the hostel & Institute free of charge.
Pick-up service:
On prior intimation, to the International Relations Office pick-up service can be arranged
on a chargeable basis. Approximately US $10 (from Airport or Railway Station to the
hostel).
Outgoing Students
Students of IIM Ranchi wishing to go on Student Exchange can obtain information on
exchange and partnership institutes, in the links provided with partner institutes. After
the announcement of the International Relations Office, inviting applications for an
exchange programme, the students can download Application Form and submit it by the
stipulated date along with all required documents. For further information on application
process, fact sheet, courses, etc. please visit the partner institute website.
Application Deadline:
To be announced by the International Relations Office as per the deadline given by the
partner institutions.
Process of Selection:
The students will be pre-selected by a process decided by the International Relations
Office in consultation with the International Relations Committee of the Institute. The
final acceptance will be made by the partner institute.
