Space Conclave
Space is rapidly transitioning from a domain of national prestige to one of commerce, geopolitics, and inclusive development. Globally, the space economy is valued at over US $400 billion and is projected to exceed US $1.8 trillion by 2035, driven by breakthroughs in launch technology, satellite miniaturization, Earth observation, and in-space services.
India stands at a pivotal moment in this global space race. With over 400 private space startups, landmark achievements by Skyroot Aerospace and Agnikul Cosmos, and a bold policy vision encapsulated in the Indian Space Policy 2023, India has signaled its intent to grow its share of the global space economy from 2% to 10% — a US $44 billion target by 2033. Realizing this ambition demands convergent action across government, industry, academia, and capital markets.
In this context, the Space Conclave 2026, organized by the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, brings together leading voices from ISRO, IN-SPACe, the private space sector, investors, and policymakers to chart a shared roadmap for India’s space economy. The Conclave is conceived as IIM Ranchi’s flagship thought-leadership initiative in the space domain — a national platform that fosters dialogue, drives collaboration, and positions India as a dominant space power in the decades ahead.
