Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava is the Director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi. Previously, he was the Dean (academics) and Professor in strategy area at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli, and a Professor at Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He has more than twenty-one years of academic experience.

Dr. Srivastava has held visiting teaching and research assignments at number of foreign universities, including the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City (Mexico); School of Business, Tecnologico De Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico (Mexico); Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida, Jacksonville (USA); Szechenyi Istvan University, Gyor (Hungary); Corvinus University, Budapest (Hungary); University of Economics in Bratislava (Slovak) and Turku University, Turku (Finland).

Dr. Srivastava is a co-author, along with Prof Mike W Peng (University of Texas at Dallas), of a south asian adaptation of the Global Business textbook (Global Business, 2e by Peng and Srivastava, Cengage Learning, 2019). He has authored numerous research articles that have been published in journals ranked by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) and the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).

He has served on important committees for a number of organizations of national significance in India, including the University Grants Commission (UGC); the Indian Council of Social Science and Research (ICSSR); National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC); and Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). He has served on the faculty selection committees of several organisations, including IIM and Universities. He has also served on selection committees of state universities as a nominee of the Hon’ble Governor.

Among the notable committees and groups on which he served as a member are those that worked on framing regulations of the entry and operations of foreign higher educational institutions in India (University Grants Commission); comprehensive perspective plan and vision document of the Inter University Centre for Yogic Sciences (IUCYC); SWAYAM Courses (University Grants Commission); Teacher Education and NEP in HEIs (IUCTE, BHU, Varanasi); implementation of NEP (University Grants Commission); and global outreach of higher education under NEP (University Grants Commission).

Previously, he served as a member on the Board of Governors (BoG) of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi and Finance Committee of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Srivastava was also a member of academic council of Sikkim Central University as a nominee of the visitor (Hon’ble President of India).

Currently, he is a nominee of Visitor (Hon’ble President of India) on the selection committee at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, nominee of the Chancellor (Hon’ble Governor) on the planning board of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and member of the North Eastern and Eastern Zone committee for NEP-2020, constituted by University Grants Commission. Dr. Srivastava also serves on the academic council of Gujarat Technological University; the Board of Studies of the ABV-SME at Jawaharlal Nehru University; Management Consultancy panel of Bureau of Indian Standards.

Dr. Srivastava has conducted programs for senior faculty, Vice Chancellors, and members of Board of Governors of numerous higher education institutes. Additionally, he conducted sessions in the Leadership for Academicians Program (LEAP) for senior faculty who may assume leadership roles in the future. He has travelled widely as invited speaker and teacher in many countries around the world.
