Deepak Kumar Srivastava

Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava is the Director at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi. He was also the officiating Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ranchi. Previously, Dr. Srivastava was the Dean (academics) and Professor in the strategy area at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli and a Professor at the Institute of Management, Nirma University Ahmedabad.

He has around twenty-three years of academic experience. Dr. Srivastava has held visiting teaching and research assignments at number of foreign universities, including the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City (Mexico); School of Business, Tecnologico De Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico (Mexico); Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida, Jacksonville (USA); Szechenyi Istvan University, Gyor (Hungary); Corvinus University, Budapest (Hungary); University of Economics in Bratislava (Slovak) and Turku University, Turku (Finland).

Dr. Deepak serves on the Boards of Governors of prestigious institutions, including Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bengaluru; Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal; Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing, Jabalpur; and Indian Institute of Coal Management, Ranchi.

He is a nominee of Visitor (Hon’ble President of India) on the selection committee at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Kanpur and a nominee of the Chancellor (Hon’ble Governor) on the planning board of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. Dr. Srivastava also serves on the academic council of Gujarat Technological University.

Previously, he served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi and the Finance Committee of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Srivastava was also a member of the academic council of Sikkim Central University as a nominee for the visitor (Hon’ble President of India).

Dr. Srivastava is a co-author, along with Prof Mike W Peng (the University of Texas at Dallas), of a South Asian adaptation of the Global Business textbook (Global Business, 2e by Peng and Srivastava, Cengage Learning, 2019). He has authored numerous research articles in journals ranked by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) and the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).

He has served on important committees for several organizations of national significance in India, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Indian Council of Social Science and Research (ICSSR), the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). He has served on the faculty selection committees of several organizations, including IIMs, IITs, NIT and Universities. He has also served on selection committees of state universities as a nominee of the Hon’ble Governor.

Among the notable committees and groups on which he served as a member are those that worked on framing regulations of the entry and operations of foreign higher educational institutions in India (University Grants Commission), comprehensive perspective plan and vision document of the Inter-University Centre for Yogic Sciences (IUCYC), SWAYAM Courses (University Grants Commission), Teacher Education and NEP in HEIs (IUCTE, BHU, Varanasi), implementation of NEP (University Grants Commission), and global outreach of higher education under NEP (University Grants Commission).

Dr. Srivastava has conducted training programs for senior faculty, Vice Chancellors, and members of the Board of Governors of numerous higher education institutes. He has traveled widely as an invited speaker and teacher in many countries.
