Prof. Sasadhar Bera joined the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi as a faculty member in August 2012 and currently holds an Associate Professor position in the department of Operations Management, and Information Systems & Business Analytics. He pursued his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Durgapur, West Bengal, master’s degree in quality, reliability, and operations research from Indian Statistical Institute Calcutta, and was awarded Ph.D. degree from IIT Bombay, India. Prof. Bera has expertise in data analytics and machine learning, optimization, and developing metaheuristic-based search strategies for business problems. Prof. Bera has gained industry experience in both manufacturing and business analytics for eight years. He has published his research works in top-class international journals like EJOR, IJPR, QE, IJQRM, etc. and reviews articles from various leading journals. His teaching and research interests include business data modeling, healthcare management and analytics, carbon energy management, process quality improvement and optimization. He has already supervised four doctoral students. Prof Bera has delivered several training programs in data analytics and modeling, process quality improvement, risk management and data science for different organizations.
